Located in Lake County Illinois, the Village of Lake Barrington is home to 4,970 residents. The village is a dedicated tree city and a country suburban village with lots of country walking trails.
A large portion of land that makes up part of Lake Barrington today was owned by the Criswells who were in the confectionery business. It was sold to Robert Bartlett in 1946, including a parcel which is now known as the Lake Barrington Shores development. Bartlett’s death ultimately led to the sale of the land that is now Lake Barrington Shores, he was resistant to the idea but his heirs were not. Lake Barrington Shores was built from the mid 1970’s to late 1990’s.
