History of Tallgrass Lake Barrington
Located at the corners of Kelsey Road and Rivers Road, this is going to be a gated neighborhood of 67 homes set among 110 acres of land. Originally the development started building in 2006 before the real estate market and economy declined after which all building stopped; nobody was buying. A few homes were built at Tallgrass Lake Barrington and some of the lots were sold. Now Tallgrass is quiet. I believe there are 5 homes currently built.
The development was part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case that also included The Enclave at Heritage Estates in 2011.
The landscaping around this development looked pretty much an eyesore for a while but The Village of Lake Barrington stepped in and requested bids to restore the landscaping in 2011. It looks much better now.
