We write locally about the real estate markets we serve but it’s good to take a look at all our states once in a while to see how we measure up. There are always leaders and stragglers when an entire country is reviewed so who are those leaders?
According to the Conference of Mayors, who knew there was such a thing; the reports show the following cities to be leading the pack.
- Naples, Florida
- Raleigh, North Carolina
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Austin, Texas
A recent real estate market news article by the National Association of Realtors indicates most of the U.S. is showing strong economic recovery.
What about Chicago?
You know what I like about living in the Midwest? Our pendulum does not swing severely. Yes we lost values on our homes but not as much as Arizona or Florida. So it stands to reason that our growth will also be slower too. We should feel thankful that we are seeing growth now on a steady basis.
So what’s the appeal of those four towns above? None of them hold any desire for me. I can say that the Chicago area is seeing a lot of home sellers move to other areas around the country. On the flip side, relocation buyers are out in force in our market too. Relocation families look at rental homes too, which will keep that part of our market steaming hot. Perhaps with all this growth people are finally able to find the jobs the really want and are prepared to move now to get them. All in all real estate is active in all parts of the U.S. and the weather is not playing too big a part.
If you are considering selling, don’t look out the window and postpone because of our snow or your drought. Whatever it is, just know there are buyers out looking, why not offer your home now? Call your local REALTOR to find out the information in your market.
