Real estate is often a weekend job, for obvious reasons. Then along comes spring break and many families head out of town for a spring vacation. So imagine my delight when:
- I first have a weekend off.
- And second my husband is home for this one in the middle of business travel.
We had not planned much other than catching up with household chores, shopping and taking the dog for a walk down the trails.
Friday evening, 9.34p.m. the phone rings. – A new buyer. It’s time to scramble because their time frame is short and they want to look at homes Saturday. Hubby and I re-organize the day and I can help them late afternoon. Works for them.
They found a house, we are in contract!
Saturday evening, text message. – Existing buyer is close to making a decision and want to see a home for a second time. We have their current home under contract and it’s time to find a new one. Now I re-scramble the scramble from Saturday and fit them in for the afternoon. Although it’s only one house, it’s an hour drive each way, so I needed three hours. Second showings easily last an hour as the decision process is being made.
The house is right, offer submitted.
Thankfully, we are good at scrambling, got the chores done, the shopping done and although the dog did not get his trail walking, he would not have done anyway. The weather was miserable, so we did a lot of ball retrieving exercise on our 2 acres instead. He was a little wet but a happy tired pup.
I am Often Asked What I Do to Attract New Clients.
Real estate is a relationship business. The relationship side is extremely important to me and I know my clients appreciate that.
I am not a sales pitch and push Realtor.
I am sure Barrington has plenty of those and you can go searching for them if that’s what you want!
That said relationships can start in many ways and mine often start right here, at this website. It’s a place for existing and future clients to educate themselves before they commit to buying or selling a home with me. You can surf anonymously, no need to give names, phone numbers or email. Search homes for as long as you like. If a home is listed on the MLS, you’ll find it here.
I am focused on Barrington. My company is located here, I live here. I spend a lot of time adding new content to my blog, market reports, stories from the field, help for buyers and sellers, neighborhood reports, just about anything real estate related and some personal things too. I want visitors to understand who I am, how I operate my business and make them be comfortable knowing I am what I say I am. The result is it brings a lot of buyers to me that want the kind of help that I offer. Readers take in a lot of content before my phone rings or text pings, but it rings and pings a lot.
I am a very matter of fact person, pragmatic to the core. No fluff, no frills, no fabrications, just real and I get the job done. I love what I do, helping buyers from all walks of life find a new home in Barrington or elsewhere if that’s what happens.
Reach me at 847-363-3686, ring or ping, just let me know who you are. You can fill in my simple form below and know that I will reply, always! I cannot always scramble, but I’ll try my very best for clients that commit to me being their Realtor of choice.
